GMCU Benefits Package for Full Time Employees
Medical coverage will be provided at no cost for full time employees of the Credit Union who choose single coverage. Dependent coverage (spouse, children, step-children or other legal dependents) is 100% paid by the employee (fee schedule can be obtained from HR). Full-time employees are eligible for coverage after 30 days of employment.
Dental insurance will be provided at no cost to employees who choose single coverage. Dependent coverage (spouse, children, step-children or other legal dependents) is 100% paid by the employee (fee schedule can be obtained from HR). Full-time employees are eligible for coverage on the first of the month following completion of 30 days of employment.
Flexplan allows you to set aside funds to pay eligible health care and dependent (day) care expenses on a pre-tax basis. Flexplan contributions are deducted from your paycheck before federal, state and Social Security taxes are calculated. This results in a reduction of your income taxes and an increase in your spendable income.
Life / AD & D Insurance
GMCU covers all full time employees at the rate of 1 times annual salary, rounded to the nearest thousand. The policy also includes an accidental death and dismemberment (AD & D) rider. Full-time employees are eligible for coverage after 30 days of employment.
Long Term Disability Insurance
Long-term disability insurance coverage is provided at no cost to full-time employees. The scheduled amount is 60% of monthly pay, subject to a maximum scheduled amount of $6,000 per month, and payments would begin after the 3-month qualifying period. Full-time employees are eligible for coverage after 30 days of employment.
Retirement 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan
Employees are eligible to join Greater Minnesota Credit Unions 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan if they are at least age 21. Once the eligibility requirement is met, employees may enter the plan on the next quarterly date.
Employees may choose to contribute up to 100% of your pay each pay period, up to IRS maximums. GMCU will match 100% of contributions made up to 2% employee salary deferrals. Matching contributions fall into a 6-year vesting schedule. GMCU may also make up to a 6% discretionary contribution at the end of the plan year. Employer contributions are subject to change in the future.
Employees will accrue vacation hours based on length of service and completion of 6 months of employment.
Personal / Sick Time
Full time employees accrue personal/sick leave after one full month of employment. Each employee will accrue 9 hours personal/sick time per month (108 hours/year). There is no maximum accrual of personal leave/sick time. All time is accrued as sick time on the employees pay stub. Two, 8-hour days each year may be used for personal days.
The credit union recognized the following holidays when observed by the Federal Reserve Bank. Full Time employees will be paid for observed holidays:
