GMCU Partnership with Communities Investing in Families
Throughout 2008, GMCU staff have been providing 2-hour financial literacy classes called, "More Money More $ense". These classes are for adults, and cover the following topics:
- Credit Reports and Scores
- Debt Collection
- Identity Fraud/Theft
- Personal Budgeting and Tips for Smarter Shopping

GMCU Partnership with Mora High School!
During the 2007-2008 school year, the staff of Greater Minnesota Credit Union and provided NEFE Financial Literacy Training to a group of 27 Mora High School students. Students who completed the course received a Certificate of Completion certificate and wallet card. Students who have completed the NEFE Curriculum are entitled to great benefits such as:
- Receive a $10 Gas Card when you open a new checking account with GMCU
- Take 0.25% APR off any loan that you qualify for (Some restrictions may apply).
- Extensive Financial Literacy Education
- Students may also be entitled to receive additional rewards. Those rewards will be posted here!

- Budgeting-Making the most of your money
- Investing-Making your money work for you
- Good debt, bad debt-Using credit wisely
